SUMMARY:Geoff Norcott: Basic Bloke 2 - There's No Bloke without Fire
DESCRIPTION:Book Tickets \nNew national tour 2025-2026 for star of Have I Got News For You\, Is University Really Worth It?\, The Last Leg\, Would I Lie to You?\, Live At The Apollo\, 8 Out of 10 Cats\, Backstage With Katherine Ryan\, The Mash Report\, The News Quiz\, Geoff Norcott’s Working Men’s Club and many more!\n‘He has become one of our most refreshingly funny comedians of any stripe.’\n★★★★ Dominic Maxwell\, The Times \nBasic Bloke 2 – There’s No Bloke Without Fire is the latest tour from comedian\, author\, podcaster and radio host Geoff Norcott and Geoff’s first under a Labour government\, so he’s got plenty to get off his chest! Not least because there’s nothing quite so British as being promised a brave new dawn then realising it’s as crap as the last one. \nGeoff will savour getting his teeth into the new ‘big beasts’ of British politics\, with scathing words for Starmer and Rachel Reeves (while surprisingly positive about the idea of Angela Rayner as PM). \nCulturally\, Geoff is conscious that – as the global headwinds shift right – he might end up at odds with people who used to be on ‘his side’. He’s dismayed to find that some of the cultural right weren’t really against censorship and cancellation\, they just wanted to be the ones doing it.\nWhat’s more\, Geoff can’t get his head around people who shared his suspicion of the EU’s power openly salivating over the idea of Britain becoming Trump’s 51st State. \n‘The Laughs roll in like waves.’\n★★★★ Bruce Dessau\, Evening Standard \nUnlike most sequels\, Basic Bloke 2 will move beyond some of the themes of the original (while fully aware that a comedian doing a ‘sequel’ at all is a bit ridiculous). \nHe’s been moving in male mental health circles for a while how\, but while they’re all saying blokes should ‘check in’ on each other\, he’s wondering what happens if you do ‘check in’ all the time but they mainly want to send you politically incorrect memes. \nGeoff’s also taking advantage of the rediscovered tolerance towards jokes being jokes to tell you what he really thinks. How much he judges people. Bad parents\, people who eat too much\, anyone who wears a dressing gown beyond 9am…it’s fair to say the gloves are off. \n‘Geoff Norcott is in his element on the stand-up stage.’\nDaily Mail

SUMMARY:Geoff Norcott: Basic Bloke
DESCRIPTION:. \nNew national tour for star of Have I Got News For You\, A League Of Their Own\, The Last Leg\, Would I Lie to You?\, Live At The Apollo\, 8 Out of 10 Cats\, Backstage With Katherine Ryan and many more! \nOn this his sixth UK tour\, Geoff Norcott will be trying to make sense of the current cultural and political scene with his playfully provocative brand of humour. Whether it’s the dire blandness of the two main parties or the shamelessly shoe-horned right-on messages in adverts and films\, Geoff will continue to tread in areas much of comedy leaves well alone. But this time around he also has a mission. As well as casting his everyman eye over what’s happening in wider society\, Geoff is trying to unpick what’s happening with your average bloke. Remember them? \n‘He has become one of our most refreshingly funny comedians of any stripe.’ ★★★★ Dominic Maxwell\, The Times \nIt’s been a rough couple of years for blokes. Toxic masculinity has grabbed all the headlines and ruined it for your standard model\, who have been put under the microscope like never before. At first glance\, there’s not much to examine – there’s no Bloke 2.0. \nTaking up his own bloke’s-eye-view\, Geoff can see that despite the social media vortex\, your man in the street\, average Joe\, man on the Clapham Omnibus and your John Smiths just keep plodding on\, fuelled by a diet of football\, sheds\, super-hero films\, sporting autobiographies\, wearing socks at all times and strategically burying feelings when necessary. \nHowever\, under the paraphernalia of manhood and the sometimes basic\, even primal\, behaviour of dads and lads\, Geoff can see that there is something mysterious and definitely non-toxic going on.\nA kindly and funny stock-take of both himself his fellow man\, BASIC BLOKE unlocks some of the more complicated behaviour of your husbands\, dads and brothers. \n‘He’s a class act with a mature\, sharp take on modern politics.’Sunday Times

SUMMARY:Red Herring Comedy Club - May 13th
DESCRIPTION:Another top line up of acts from the UK circuit! \nSCOTT BENNETT\nOne of the fastest rising stars on the UK circuit. Likeable\, with a warm and engaging delivery\, he is a Yorkshire live wire with an undeniable no nonsense logic. \nHis last two showS Leap Year and Relax were nominated for ‘Best Show’ at Leicester Comedy Festival and Scott was named by Chortle as ‘One to Watch’ 2018 & 2019. \nHis debut hour stand-up show About a Roy was nominated for the highly acclaimed Amused Moose Comedy Award and was selected as one of the top 10 shows at Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2015 \nHe recently appeared on Live At The Apollo (BBC2)\, on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz\, The Now Show\, The Summer Festival with Daliso Chaponda\, The Comedy Club with Arthur Smith\, and Knock Knock with Helen Lederer\, The Likely Dads and Elephant in the Room with Sarah Millican. \nJACOB NUSSEY unassumingly draws in audiences with his deadpan style\, sharp jokes\, and ill-fated anecdotes with clever punchlines. \nJacob won West Didsbury Comedy Festival New Act of the Year and was a finalist of Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year in 2022.\nAfter reaching the semi-finals of British Comedian of the Year and semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny in 2021. \nJacob has been named by Chortle as one to watch for 2023. \nTHE RAYMOND & MR TIMPKINS REVIEW\nLightning fast choreography meets uber swift editing in a fantasmagorical collision of quality entertainment. An overload of velvet\, sandals and multi-hued wool provides a startling accompaniment\, the whole effect being that of a slim man and a fat man putting their bums in your face. \nHeadlining at venues from the Falklands to Ashby De La Zouch\, they’ve circumnavigated the planet\, spurting amusement in concentrated twenty minute bursts but now an hour show is gestating\, due to arrive bloody and screaming at some point\, if not slightly before. \nIf you like music and let’s face it\, who doesn’t\, you’ll like it. If you like silliness\, middle aged men dancing and unsavoury acts\, you’ll probably love it. \n“Ridiculous – quite bonkers funniness”\nVOICE MAG \n“A runaway train of brazen daftness”\nTHE LIST \nMC TOM TOAL
