Red Herring Comedy Club Special

Phil Nichol.  A legend on the circuit and one of the best headliners around. Awards and 5 star reviews aplenty only back up his status as a truly unique performer.  An acclaimed actor, award winning comedian, producer, presenter, writer and musician there is no end to his talent and we’re so glad he’s headlining our Festival special.

Carl Hutchinson has been a finalist in prestigious competitions such as So You Think Your Funny?, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year & ITV’s FHM Comedy Hero. “Hutchinson’s trump card is the way he interacts with the audience, rolling with every ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ his material generated, giving a dynamism and spontaneity to his performance.” Chortle.co.uk

Philberto "A must see" – Mirror. Philberto is the mad comic genius from English comedian Milo McCabe, pretending to be Philberto, Portugal’s No 1 reality TV star. He has a vibrant energy and hard hitting style that makes twenty minutes disappear in the blink of an eye.

MC Matt Reed. He effortlessly plays with the crowd with a natural rapport that is found in few comics. Matt, always ready, never disappointing will always make a good gig – great.

Battle Ducks: Activate!

Four young comedians, Ed Carfrae, Joe Lawrence, Sam Chaplin and Loz Whitaker have come together under the name Battle Ducks to produce a fresh new stand-up comedy showcase. Their debut show Battle Ducks: Activate! launched at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

Each comedian brings their own style to the show. With themes ranging from masculinity to parental tyranny, pop culture, sex and crushing loneliness, there’s something for everyone.

The four first are quickly rising on the comedy circuit; in the past year they have appeared as solo performers at Manchester Comedy Store, Laughing Horse ‘New Act of the Year’ competition, and on pro line-ups in Lincoln, Nottingham, London, Sheffield and Leeds.
